After a dominating display by the CSUSM men and women's cross country teams in the NAIA National Championships, Cal State San Marcos is currently leading the NAIA Directors Cup Standings. The rankings are based on each institution's finish in up to 12 sports -- six women's and six men's over the course of the academic year.
In the first ranking of the 2011-2012 school year, published December 1
st, Cal State San Marcos currently sits atop the Learfield Sports Directors Cup Standings with 190 points. University of British Columbia is second with 157.
The current rankings account for the two of the six fall NAIA Championships that have been completed. Cal State San Marcos also had teams qualify for national championships in volleyball, men's soccer, and women's soccer. Those points will be taken into account when the next Directors Cup Standings are released Thursday, December 15
th.
