Women’s Golf in 16th place after Day 1 of NAIA Nationals

Results

The #12 ranked Cal State San Marcos Women's Golf team fired an opening round of 317 on the Link Hills Country Club in Greeneville, TN for the first of four rounds at the 2012 NAIA National Championships.
 
Junior Felicia Titus, who has been extremely hot of late, shot a 77 (+4) on the Par 73 course. Titus, currently in 38th place individually, has shot 77 or better in 5 of her last 6 rounds.
 
Stephanie Cole, Vanessa Chap, and Tess Russell are all tied for 65th at 80 (+7), and Lisa Copeland is in 92nd at 82.
 
The Cougars are just 7 strokes off being in the Top-10. Shorter University from Georgia is the team leader after Day 1 with an impressive score if 298. CSUSM will hit the course again tomorrow at 10:50 am PST, or 1:50 local.
