The #2 ranked Cal State San Marcos Softball team racked up several awards at the 2012 A.I.I. Softball Awards Banquet Wednesday afternoon, earning 6 First Team All-Conference Selections, including Player of the Year
Alyssa Dronenburg and Pitcher of the Year
Cortney Allen.
Joining them on the first team were third baseman
Theresa Houle and the entire Cougar outfield of
Alicia Ingram,
Alex Miller, and
Kaitlin McGinley.
Head Coach Dave Williams earned Coach of the Year honors after leading the team to a 47-4 record and their first ever #1 ranking in March. The Cougars have been ranked in the top 2 the entire season.
The Cougars begin play in the A.I.I. Conference Tournament starting Thursday at 1:00 PM PST. San Marcos will face the winner of Jamestown and Dickenson State.
