Complete All-Conference Team

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team had six players named to the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) All-Conference Team, it was announced by the conference.

Senior Richie Kaiser, junior Scott Rice and sophomore Zach Sheppard were named to the First Team, while junior Mason Grimes and freshman Louie Farfan were named to the Second Team. Junior Evan Myers was a Honorable Mention honoree.

The six selections match the most in program history, set in 2009 and duplicated in 2011.

Kaiser is the only repeat first-team selection for the Cougars. He was named to the A.I.I.'s top team in 2011 before taking 2012 off. Kaiser started all 17 games for the Cougars this season, helping the team to a .79 goals against average and seven shutouts.

Rice, a second-team awardee in 2012, scored three goals while adding a pair of assists in 2013. Two of his goals were game-winners for the Cougars.

Sheppard, a goalkeeper from San Diego, posted a .65 goals against average and seven shutouts. His GAA at the end of the regular season was fifth lowest in the NAIA.

Grimes and Myers also started all 17 matches along the Cougar back line with Kaiser. Grimes shared the center with Kaiser, with Myers split out to the right. Myers, in his first season at CSUSM, scored twice and added an assist.

Farfan provided balance in the central midfield for the Cougars in 2013. He recorded a goal and an assist in his first season in Cougar blue, and served as the main point of distribution out of the back for the CSUSM back line.

CSUSM won 10 games during the regular season for the first time since 2006. The team was eliminated in the semifinals of the A.I.I. Championships on Friday night,2 -1, by host Georgia Gwinnett.
