SAN MARCOS, Calif. - The Cal State San Marcos baseball team welcomed students from the Training Education and Research Institution (TERI) for an instructional scrimmage and barbecue on Saturday, February 23 at CSUSM Baseball Field.
TERI is a private, non-profict organization based in Oceanside that serves the needs of children and adults with autism and other developmental and learning disabilities and their families. Saturday marked the first time CSUSM and TERI teamed up.
TERI students got a first-hand look at what college baseball is all about, as each student participated in pregame warm-ups, was introduced prior to the scrimmage and was paired with a CSUSM player to learn the fundamentals of batting and fielding.
After the scrimmage, TERI students and Cougar players enjoyed a barbecue in the stands together.
