SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos No. 15 women's and No. 17 men's track & field teams will be sending 25 student-athletes to Gulf Shores, Ala. for the 2015 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships starting Thursday.

Watch The 'Ships LiveAll the events from the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships will be available to be viewed live via the
NAIA Network. Fans will have a chance to watch up to four HD-quality live channels for a subscription fee.
The Basics48 events are scheduled over the three-day span. 110 women's and 104 men's teams will be represented in the competition, which begins on Thursday at 10 a.m. CDT. Indiana Tech's men's and women's squads are both looking to win their third-straight NAIA Outdoor National Championship titles.

2014 NAIA Championship RecapThe women's team finished in 16
th place and the men's team placed 18
th. Eight Cougars took home All-American honors at last year's competition.
Kate Bouvatte earned two All-American honors in the 10,000m and 5000m (17:36.58), finishing in third and fourth respectively.
Amber Rosario,
Brianna Gibas,
Charlotte Kuzminsky and
Michelle Cruz earned All-American honors in the 4x400m relay, finishing in seventh with a time of 3:52.39. Rosario also took home All-American honors in the 100-meter hurdles for the third consecutive season, finishing in seventh with a time of 14.21.
Maurice Strickland earned All-American honors with a second place finish in the decathlon (7345 points) and a seventh place finish in the pole vault (4.9m).
Greg Talley finished fourth in the high jump with a leap of 2.06m.
Deng Akuien placed sixth with a time of 9:11.19 in the 3000m steeplechase.

Who We AreCSUSM is an NAIA Division I institution which competes in the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Conference. CSUSM was accepted into NCAA Division II Candidacy Year One and the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) during the summer and is currently going through a three-year transition phase in order to gain full NCAA DII status for the 2017-18 season. The 2014-15 season will be the school's final year competing in the NAIA.
Steve Scott – The Man, the Myth, the MilerConsidered one of the greatest mile runners in American history, CSUSM head coach
Steve Scott is a three-time Olympian and was a six-time All-American in track and cross country at UC Irvine. A member the
United States Track & Field Hall of Fame, Scott ran 134 sub-4 minute miles in his illustrious career. Scott started the Cougar cross country and track & field programs in the 1999-2000 season. He has coached over 135 All-Americans and been named NAIA Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year three times. He has also been selected Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Cross Country Coach of the Year 10 times.
