FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Cal State San Marcos women's track & field team completed a challenging indoor schedule at the NAU Tune-Up on Friday evening, competing at an endurance building elevation of nearly 7,000 feet for the third time in three weeks.
Natalie Rodriguez (5:21.04) finished second in the mile behind a NCAA Division I runner from Arizona State.
Charlotte Kuzminsky (5:32.62) and
Rachel Brady (5:37.75) placed fourth and sixth, respectively.
For a second straight meet the 4x400m relay placed in the top three. With a time of 4:09.4, the 4x4 squad of
Lauren Wyckoff, Kuzminsky,
Jasmine Oliver and
Cristen Lane placed third overall.
In the 800m, Lane won her heat with a time of 2:29.16 and finished seventh overall.
Shelby Eberwein ran a 2:35.91 in the 800m to finish second in her heat and ninth overall.
Kamarria Rehn placed second in her 200m heat with a time of 26.53, missing a personal-best by just .35 seconds.
Jasmine Williams ran a 27.68 to also finished second in her 200m heat.
Next on tap for the Cougars will be the start of the outdoor season at the
Rossi Relays at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday, Feb. 27. The men's track & field squad will be competing for the first time as a NCAA Division II team.
